Busier than a bee trying to adapt to all this sunny weather..

Wowzer, I've just marked up my calendar and I am choca-block for the next 2 months...but thankfully there is a holiday at the end of it, which I'm thinking I may need!

We got told this week at work that we're moving offices, which is great for me in terms of travel because my 25 minute journey will now be cut to a 10 minute one and if I had the motivation and the fact there's a shower room in the new place I could always jog there - but, erm, I'll keep you posted if that ever happens....you may have to wait until hell freezes over first! ;-)

The only sad news is that I won't enjoy my commute across Dartmoor anymore, whether it's foggy, sunny or snowing you can't beat the scenery I get to see every morning and evening.

But then again, knowing we'll be in a large, more swish office kitted out in Ikea - what more could a girl ask for? Perhaps a Diet Coke break man cleaning our windows at 11am every day? Ok then.

Got 4 birthdays coming up too (not my own, who do you think I am - the bloody Queen!) Gran, Linz, Looby and our war hero Wayne. Will no doubt provide some good nights out and hopefully if the weather stays fine a few trips to the beach and BBQs - another good thing about living in the Westcountry!

Then it's operation Save H Money as June is proving to be an expensive month. The Chiz is doing a London date which as I type has actually all been paid for, got in there early with my train and hotel bookings and got some bargains worthy of Bargain Hunt so that'll be fun seeing Claire, Raz, Nikki and the rest of the gang again - usual pre and post gig giggles will occur. Then I get home on Thursday, and the following Sunday me and Ben are off to the Isle of Wight for the festival.

We've just sorted our accommdation, which proved a bit of a search as most places were obviously booked up by now or cashing in and charging up but I've spoken to the guy who owns the place and he's pretty damn cool so it's going to be fun - oooh and I may get to go on a hovercraft! Like the Jetsons or what?!

Then it's my time to chill with a nice break to Turkey, went there 2 years ago so I'm 2 years overdue a holiday and I'm looking forward to lazing on the beach, going out on boat trips (gonna catch me a fish dammit) and doing absolutely nowt!

That is all.

P.S - want to check out a new band? H's recommendation for this month (or what's left of it) are 1990s.

Daisy Donovan

...is a comedy genius. End of.

Folks in the UK may remember her from Channel 4's '11 o'clock show', then she did her own show based in America called 'Daisy Daisy'. It was bought up to be shown in America, I believe Courtney Cox is the show's producer and they've just started replaying them on Living TV here in the UK - and it is TV gold.

First, you've got the get the words.

Then, follow it up with your moves....and someone to look after your handbag.

My nose arrived in the post...

A quote probably more suited to Michael Jackson, but yes my Comic Relief red nose arrived in the post today. Squashed. Square. Not resembling a nose at all but more of a fluffy dice without the dots.

But apart from that sad news from the day, it's been a good old week so far and the next few days promise to be even more exciting.

So Sunday, was a blue day but was supposed to be a Green day. Plymouth Argyle were knocked out of the FA Cup, which was a real shame not only for the team but for the city. There had been such a buzz about the place for the last 2 weeks it would have been lovely to see them progress further and be the true British underdogs til the end. Sure, we would have only lost to Man Utd in the semis but the money, as much as I hate for it to go down to that, would have done wonders to the club as they await to finish the last section of the stadium.

Then again, with Elton John and George Michael doing gigs there in May and June and charging tickets prices around the £90 mark, that should help too.

Thankfully, Ben was a little more cheery after the footy on Monday night as we were very kindly given freebie tickets to go and see Jet at the pavilions. They were a brilliant live band and despite only really knowing about 4 of their songs on the old album, their performance certainly gave me the incetive to check out the new stuff. The lighting was also superb - I'm not bias, it was! Hehe, thanks to Y+A from Devon's now resident freeloaders!

And so now I pack me bags for Olde London Towne. Members of the Chiz Biz crew shall meet and head for the BBC studios for Comic Relief night - Take That and Lenny Henry in the same room, what would you pay for that eh? I've got me t-shirt and me wave sorted for mum (although with my face perfect for radio I reckon the cameras will steer clear).

Be sure to tune in and give as much as you can for their worthy causes, oh and keep your eye out for me...I'll be the one with the squashed red nose.

Not the best hangover cure...

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

Hehe, lookie at me running! I don't know what's worse - the nobbly knees or the honking great gumshield (no that isn't my real teeth!) You'll have to forgive the pic, that was taken during a match after our work's xmas 'do' so I managed to battle on for 70 minutes with a champagne hangover. Eek!

Howdy y'all it's Joss Stone!

What in the 'yankee-doodle dandy' has happened to Joss Stone?

I know I'm well over a week late with this one but I, along with several other million people, sat and watched the Brits expecting to cheer on with delight at the comeback of fellow Devonian Miss Stone. However, compared to when I last saw her - probably performing with Robbie Williams (who she gave a get well soon nod to in true American style - with extra cheese) it seems our Joss has been repackaged into what can only be described as an over-styled Amercianised mess.

Don't get me wrong I still think the girl has a fantastic voice and has the potential to be one of those artists who truly have a lifelong career in music. I also got the impression she is fairly down to earth as in previous interviews and she even booked some sessions in a recording studio in Plymouth with internationally renowned songwriter Rick Nowels, to be closer to home.

She has become something of an inspiration to Westcountry folk as someone from this corner of the country, which often gets neglected, who has truly made it. Although funnily enough on the night of the Brits, other major winners included Best Live Act Muse who come from Teignmouth in Devon and James Morrison (Best Male) who grew up busking in Cornwall.

Presumably Joss has got this American accent as she has been over there recording. I don't know how long for but it makes me scared to venture back to DisneyLand in case I lose all identity and dye my hair purple. Purple? Yeah, purple! And yet I read now in the paper (if you believe them!) that she wants to have dialect lessons to 'rediscover' her accent after all the palaver her presenting stint caused. Maybe she should offer a reward in case anyone stumbles upon before mentioned Devonshire accent. Answers on a postcard please.

I just find it very sad to see this almost earthy and hippy girl who never wore shoes transformed into this, I guess to reach a new market and shift a few more records.

Joss Stone has gone from an organic, free range Devonshire hen into a modified piece of meat, covered in Uncle Sam's special recipe and sold in a bucket of her own self-worth. Someone hand that girl a pasty and remind her where her true roots started - before they went purple.

Paddy's online!

Since 2004 I've been doing a little cartoon strip every couple of months for PADS (People and Dogs Society), it is all based around their 'mascot' Paddy the Labrador. Anyway, the cartoons get published in their member newsletter and now they have their own section on their new website!

Pretty exciting stuff, it's a charitable and I mainly did it to get my drawings seen so now that they're online too I'm dead chuffed! x

This post does not feature any reference to Jade Goody

At last January is nearly over! Don't get me wrong I love the smell of a new year but January drags on like a misbehaved child in Woolies. Plus the fact I've had to make my wages last 6 weeks instead of the normal 4...even in the sales! (gives myself pat on back)

But what is there to savour in February? Dad's birthday, Valentine's Day (groan!) me and Ben have already decided that as we're saving for a house we shall just get each other cards and go halves on a takeaway - who says romance ain't dead eh? And with the footy on that night too, in all seriousness I really couldn't think of a nicer evening. (well maybe if I had a puppy to play with in front of a toasty open fireplace) - but the general process is house, then puppy. Ideally I'm after a Pug who shall be called Trigger or a French Bulldog named Ollie - much like this bundle of cuteness below:

Now I'm sure even that will melt the coldest of January hearts...maybe not if you're Miss Tiggy Winkle though!

Hope you're all having a good one! x
