And a blogger was born....

Well I thought it was time to jump on the band wagon that is blogger and get myself one to apply my mumblings and grumblings to. I guess it's nice to have somewhere to kick back or let rip without sucha thing as a moderator status to worry about...hey, here I'm my own boss! Lol.

You would have thought the first day I'd have something interesting to write about, but I assure you it will get better! I guess the main thing going on in my life at the moment is a possible change in career. Don't get me wrong I love the people I work with at the publishing company but I write the odd bit of news now and then and pretty much slave every week as a glorified data inputer maintaining a database of subscribers.

And do you know what the worse bit is? I'm not really sure what I want to go into! Eek! I wanted to be a bus driver when I was 4, a PE teacher at 14 and now I'm approaching 24 what do I want to be?! I dunno!!!!

Part of me still enjoys writing and although journalism is still a potential for me I crave for something a little more creative and demanding, perhaps including my actual degree somewhere (after all 3 years work should really help towards something) but sadly living in the Westcountry (la la la) there aren't many openings for media/public relations grads.

I was really lucky to tag along with Melanie C and her crew about a week and a half ago to the Algarve for a festival and that gave me such a positive insight into that side of the music industry. Of course not everyone you would with would be as approachable as Miss C or her team and there would be differences in that this was her own record company. But that kind of life, although probably lonely, tiring and stressful at times was just amazing. The live aspect and promotional side really interests me, and has done for a while...my final dissertation was about 'The role of the female in the music video', it enabled me to really look into the promotional video and everything it is supposed to bring to the potential viewer/buyer - and my trip away perhaps just cemented my fascination with the industry as a whole.

One can dream....or one can chase the dream. x
