England are coming home :(

Well after what was a disappointing tournament England are on the plane back to Blighty as I type, Posh is probably snacking on nuts, Theo is looking back over his holiday snaps, Rooney is counting down the days until he sees Ronaldo at the training ground and Sven has picked up the free Jobs supplement of the newspaper.

It does seem a shame that is ended so quickly, granted they didnt play the best footy but they ground out the results and perhaps it was the coach's decisions which has probably let slip this golden opportunity, especially now favourites Brazil are out. We had the worst luck with Rooney only just coming back and Owen making more appearances on the adverts inbetween the footy than on the pitch itself, but the Owen of the Hargreaves type finally proved himself especially in the last game and starlets like Lennon and Carrick have shown that there is a bright looking future for England.

So, put away those mouldy flags which have gathered so much dirt from hanging out your window, wash that beer and tear stained shirt, get some tippex and edit the captain's armband from your Beckham figure and remove the flag from your car....if the wind hasnt done so already.

Lie back and think of England, of the fact we already have a friendly to prepare for against Greece next month and that you now have permission to hate Man Utd even more after Ronaldo's antics. After all, we still have sporting hope - Murray's still in Wimbledon....now where's my kilt?!
